Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our client's team in a leading manufacturing facility in the UK. As a key member of the QHSE team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of Health and Safety are managed effectively, and that the company meets its statutory obligations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Health and Safety, with experience of working in a similar role, and knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.

About the Role
This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between the core hours of 08:00 and 18:00. The salary for this role is £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience, and the company offers a range of benefits, including group life insurance, EAP, cycle to work scheme, employee recognition award, health cash plan, private medical insurance, and enhanced company pension scheme.

Key Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing effective Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Conducting regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and taking corrective action as necessary
- Maintaining accurate records of accidents, incidents, and near misses, and reporting any significant events to senior management
- Providing training and guidance to employees on Health and Safety procedures and protocols
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure that Health and Safety is integrated into all aspects of the business
- Liaising with external agencies, such as regulatory bodies and insurance companies, as required

Requirements
- Strong background in Health and Safety, with experience of working in a similar role
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization
- Basic IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office software
