Job Title: Biodiversity Officer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Biodiversity Officer to join our Planning and Development Management team at Kirklees Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional advice and guidance on biodiversity issues related to development management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice on wildlife law, policy, and procedures
  • Undertake and interpret biodiversity net gain assessments
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance biodiversity in Kirklees
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to promote sustainable development

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification in ecology or related subject
  • Experience in biodiversity conservation and management
  • Strong IT skills and numeracy skills
