About the Role:

  1. This exciting opportunity involves establishing contractor schedule requirements through early engagement with the supply chain to meet the programme's time, cost, and quality targets, while supporting monthly business reporting.
  2. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the Head of Planning to improve and sustain operating policies aimed at mitigating risks, taking a leading role in monitoring adherence to schedule policies.
  3. As an Infrastructure Planning Manager, you will provide specialist advice and technical expertise to address delays, challenges, and other issues encountered throughout the project.
  4. You will drive expedient project delivery by leading periodic schedule correlation.
  5. Coordination and communication of the schedule reporting cycle will be crucial in ensuring alignment with executive reporting lifecycles.
  6. You will take ownership of business reporting, ensuring the quality and robustness of the data and providing regular project progress updates to senior stakeholders.
  7. Sustaining governance processes and ensuring policies align with strategic business objectives will be key aspects of this role.
  8. As a leader, you will set clear objectives, review performance, conduct appraisals, and provide regular feedback to ensure continuous development and achievement.
  9. You will conduct self-assessments of procedural compliance, sharing lessons learned and best practices within the Planning community.
  10. Supporting the Head of Planning in preparing for and attending meetings, delivering market and strategy insights to senior commercial teams will be essential.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience in a Planning or Project Controls role within large, complex infrastructure or construction projects, ideally supported by a formal professional Project Management qualification.
  2. Strong knowledge of large infrastructure or construction projects (preferably under NEC Forms of Contract) and an understanding of the consultation process and public sector considerations.
  3. Ability to manage stakeholders effectively and handle information flow in a matrix environment, providing specialist advice as needed.
  4. Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating a team within a large-scale project environment.
  5. Strong attention to detail with the ability to solve complex problems and mitigate risks.
  6. Familiarity with public sector policies, processes, and procedures, and their associated political implications.

Estimated Salary: £80,000 - £110,000 per annum
