About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Regional Manager to join our team at Nationwide Building Society. As a Regional Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of Business Development Managers (BDMs) in the Midlands, North, and Scotland regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a business plan to optimize mortgage volumes, business quality, and digital integration.
  • Line manage, motivate, supervise, and coach a team of circa 10 BDMs to enhance relationship management, business development skills, and technical knowledge.
  • Embed a positive culture and deliver outstanding service via your team of BDMs.
  • Meet and present to Key Accounts, promoting Nationwide's Intermediary proposition.
  • Support Nationwide by attending Financial Service and industry exhibitions/trade fares.
  • Maintain controls within all quality and regulatory guidelines, including database management, activity levels, complaint management, and quality of case submission.
  • Stay aware of strategic intermediary competitor activity and its impact on Nationwide, providing feedback and recommendations.
  • Demonstrate a detailed understanding of key market issues, particularly the threats presented by new entrants and digital development across the sector.
  • Ensure support for the Society's diversity and inclusivity responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Excellent motivational and leadership skills.
  • Coaching and supervision skills.
  • Proven track record of successful management and target achievement.
  • Proven track record of successful business development in a financial services environment.
  • Success through managing a team.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Intermediary market place.
  • CeMAP qualified or similar level of specialist qualification.
  • Understanding of the MCoB, ICoB rules, and other regulations impacting the intermediary market place and its business.
