About the Role:

You will be working within the Cardiff region at one of our children and young people's residential settings. Our organisation believes that every child and young person deserves to enjoy engaging in activities with other young people, while receiving expert care and attention. We champion fairness and work with communities to offer the best service possible to those who need it.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supporting children aged with emotional behaviour disorder and/or complex needs in one of our active services in Cardiff.
  2. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  3. Creating an inclusive and fair environment for a diversity of backgrounds, situations, and abilities.
  4. Managing challenging behaviour from young people, which could be both verbal and physical.
  5. Ensuring strict health and safety practices to ensure the wellbeing of the children and young people.
  6. Building rapport and empowering the children and young people to reach their potential.
  7. Building good relationships with families.
  8. Providing child-centred care for children and young people with complex health/emotional needs.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  1. A child-centred approach to care.
  2. Previous experience within children's social care or a transferable skill role is desirable.
  3. A full UK driving licence.
  4. NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care is desirable, but you do have the option to work towards it.
  5. A basic understanding of children's human rights and safeguarding is essential.
  6. An Enhanced DBS check (Update Service DBS' desirable for swifter onboarding).
  7. A 37 hours per week full-time role.
  8. A 30% enhancement on hourly rate after 8pm on weekdays.
  9. A 50% enhancement on hourly rate on weekends.
  10. A Sleep in Allowance.
  11. Career progression via qualifications and promotion.
  12. A free Enhanced DBS check.
