About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join our Commercial Programme team at Gatwick Airport. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering ground-breaking projects that shape the future of our airport.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop project scope to meet business needs and deliver effective design management on individual projects.
  • Develop design briefs for external design consultants and ensure the design contract is implemented and effectively managed through the design process.
  • Seek sustainable design solutions to meet project requirements, ensuring implementation of measures aimed at preventing, reducing and remediating carbon emissions.
  • Work with multiple stakeholders to support the successful delivery of projects.
  • Seek cost-effective design solutions and manage external design consultants.
  • Provide technical input to any design changes through the lifecycle of the project.
  • Undertake the role of Principal Designer Contact to discharge the duties of Principal Designer (CDM Regulations 2015) with the support of CDM Advisor.
Requirements
  • University degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services engineering discipline – or significant experience in lieu of education/qualifications.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of technical and regulatory requirements related to electrical engineering.
  • Knowledge and experience in designing electrical, mechanical and other building service systems, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Public Services) standards is desirable.
  • Experience in coordinating design teams and multi-discipline engineering resources with a particular focus on Building Services.
