Literacy Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Literacy Support Specialist to join our team at Havering Education Services. As a Reading Champion, you will play a vital role in promoting a love of books and reading among our pupils.
About the RoleThis is a flexible part-time position, with varied hours (9am - 3pm for one day, 10am - 4pm for another day, including a 30-minute lunch break). The successful candidate will work approximately 39 weeks per year, attending INSET days as required.
The salary for this position is £25,709 - £35,501 per annum, depending on experience, which is based on the Grade 1/2, Points 2 – 5 pay scale.
Responsibilities- Hold an NVQ Level 3 or above qualification.
- Enjoy working with young children and be passionate about supporting and promoting learning.
- Engage, enthuse, motivate, and challenge children to achieve their full potential.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team, accepting advice and being proactive where necessary.
- Be responsible for groups of children and/or conduct 1:1 activities.
- Show initiative and have high expectations of attainment and pupil behaviour.
- Be flexible, hardworking, and caring in your approach.
- Liaise effectively with parents to ensure seamless communication.
- Promote a love of reading by showcasing children's literature and maintaining engaging displays and information boards.
