Project Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our team at CV Library. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Material take off's from fabrication drawings, site GA's, valve & instrument schedules, and standard specifications.
  • Responsible for tendering packages, obtaining quotations, and raising Purchase Orders for items with suppliers as required by Project Managers.
  • Visit sites as required to assess job requirements.
  • Assist Project Managers in preparation of H&S documentation including but not limited to Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Construction Phase Plans, Traffic Management Plans, Site H&S files, Permits to Work, HASWA compliance, and CDM compliance.
  • Ensure all project records are up to date and available within project files.
  • Follow up the order status for delivering material to the site to support the production schedule, manufacturing lead times, and site activities.
  • Develop a detailed working knowledge of all standard products.
  • Support the commercial manager with forecasting and contract administration.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • At least 2 years' experience in a mechanical engineering/workshop environment.
  • Ability to interpret fabrication drawings, site GA's, valve & instrument schedules, and standard specifications.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a strategic approach in managing local suppliers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work with team members, clients, and suppliers.
  • Ability to work independently, display initiative, and solve problems proficiently.

  • Purchasing within agreed limits as directed by Project Managers and the Senior Management Team.
  • Undertake any activities responsibly as instructed by or agreed by Directors.
