About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Paralegal to join our team in Edinburgh. As a key member of our Real Estate team, you will be responsible for supporting the preparation and submission of documents for real estate closings, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document Preparation: Manage the preparation and submission of documents for real estate closings, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and deadlines.
  • Client Communication: Coordinate and communicate with clients, lenders, title companies, and other parties involved in real estate transactions.
  • Closing Documents: Draft closing documents such as deeds, affidavits, settlement statements, and closing disclosures.
  • Entity Formation: Assist in the formation and maintenance of entities related to real estate holdings, including drafting operating agreements and resolutions.
  • Case File Management: Maintain organised and up-to-date case files, including electronic records in the document management system.
  • Post-Closing Matters: Assist with post-closing matters, including finalizing documents, updating records, and resolving any outstanding issues.

Requirements:

  • Education: An academic background with a degree in Law or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a real estate paralegal, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of real estate terminology, legal documents, and the closing process. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal research databases. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Additional Requirements: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of state and local real estate laws and regulations is a plus.
