Class 1 Day Driver Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Class 1 Day Driver to join our team at Gregory Distribution. As a Class 1 Day Driver, you will be responsible for delivering goods to retail stores on curtain side and box trailers, collecting multiple containers from port for delivery to distribution centres, and maintaining regular contact with the transport team for updates on progress and managing customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver goods to retail stores on curtain side and box trailers
  • Collect multiple containers from port for delivery to distribution centres
  • Maintain regular contact with the transport team for updates on progress and manage customer expectations
  • Attend regular training sessions
Essential Skills:
  • UK Class 1 (CE) Driving Licence
  • Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card
  • Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous
  • Passionate about providing excellent customer service
  • Working to deadlines
  • Confident, polite, and a team player
  • Good geographical knowledge
  • Fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated
Why Gregory Distribution?
  • Basic salary for Class 1 Day Driver is £37,000 per annum, based on working 48 hours per week
