We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our nursery's kitchen team as a Kitchen Team Member. Our nursery uses a company called The Professional Nursery Kitchen to supply our food, which is cooked to temperature in our oven. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and be able to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
* Clean and maintain the kitchen area to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our children and staff.
* Prepare food items as necessary, following our company's guidelines and procedures.
* Ensure that all food items are stored and handled properly, adhering to our nursery's food safety policies.
* Manage stock rotation within the nursery's kitchen to ensure that we have the necessary ingredients for meal preparation.
* Follow safety and sanitation guidelines when handling food items to prevent cross-contamination and foodborne illnesses.
* Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the dishwasher and other kitchen equipment.
* Assist in the preparation of meals as needed, working collaboratively with our kitchen team.
* Assist in the cleaning of dishes, utensils, and other kitchen equipment, ensuring that they are sanitized and ready for use.
* Load and unload the dishwasher, ensuring that it is properly maintained and functioning correctly.
* Complete all necessary paperwork associated with our kitchen, including QBDN's kitchen documentation and Environmental Health records.
