Job Overview
In the esteemed role of Critical Care Transport Assistant at Sja's West, you will embark on a journey to provide exceptional patient care and transportation services. Working in a dynamic co-located team with nurses, ANPs/ACPs, ODPs, doctors, and consultants, you will play a pivotal role in mobilising critical care teams to stabilise and transport patients between hospitals and Critical Care Units.

About the Role
As a skilled Critical Care Transport Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to ensure safe and stable transportation for patients, clinical teams, and relatives throughout journeys. You will also maintain vehicle and equipment standards, reporting any defects or operational issues promptly. Your contribution as an integral part of the Critical Care Transport team will represent Sja's West in the best possible light, while supporting NHS clinical teams with tasks and procedures within your training and induction levels.

Required Skills and Qualifications
To excel in this position, you should possess a full UK manual driving licence (C1 category), minimum 1 year's driving experience, and no more than 3 penalty points. Additionally, you must hold and maintain an SJA Critical Care Transport Assistant qualification, which can be obtained within the probationary period if not held already. IHCD D1/D2 or a Level 3 Certificate in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving (CERAD) are also essential qualifications. Experience working with customers, patients, or clients in a positive manner, along with conflict management and de-escalation skills, is highly valued.
