We're seeking an experienced publishing professional to join our team in Europe, focusing on contract negotiation for audiobook agreements that align with Spotify's growth plan. As a key liaison between publishers and Spotify, you'll play a vital role in collaborating with product, operations, and growth teams to drive feedback and influence working methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify audiobook catalogs of interest to Spotify listeners, in collaboration with Business Unit partners.
  • Manage content licensing budgets and negotiate with publishers to distribute audiobooks on Spotify.
  • Work closely with Business Unit partners to test audiobook value propositions with consumers.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Spotify's commercial relationship with book publishers.
  • Develop innovative strategies to secure rights on favorable economic terms while sharing risk between Spotify and content partners.
  • Gather data and analytics from internal groups to inform new initiatives.
  • Collaborate with publishing partners to ensure mutual business goals are met, troubleshoot operational issues, and drive success on the platform.
  • Contribute to the development roadmap of our audiobook product by working closely with product teams.
About You
  • A minimum of 3+ years of work experience in the book industry, preferably in digital sales, business affairs, or a similar capacity.
  • In-depth knowledge of the European audiobook market.
  • Native-level proficiency in German (desired) or full professional proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing; along with at least full professional proficiency in English for both spoken and written communication.
  • Proven track record of deal negotiations in the digital books space and established network of contacts in the book industry.
  • Familiarity with current approaches used to license digital books, including economic models between book publishers and services providing books to consumers.
  • A lifelong learner, self-starter, and risk-taker comfortable with smart decisions.
  • Experience managing content budgets or generating revenue from content licensing.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to build, iterate, and communicate complex financial models.
  • Willingness to travel and work across distant time zones.

  • You'll be based in our London or Stockholm office.
