Fabric Manager Job Description

CBW Staffing Solutions is seeking a skilled Fabric Manager to oversee and manage the day-to-day activities of the Fabric Team and fabric-related sub-contractors. As a Fabric Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that reactive maintenance is carried out to all site fabric assets, generating proposals and supervising minor and extra works, and liaising with sub-contractors to obtain quotations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure that accurate and comprehensive records are kept pertaining to Health & Safety, Building Compliance, and Quality Assurance.
  2. Support the Account Manager in setting and utilising the annual fabric and project budgets.
  3. Lead on Bi-monthly fabric meetings with the Account Manager.
  4. Building/Fabric defect diagnoses and recommending remedial works.
  5. Specification writing for small works and tendering/managing small works packages.
  6. To ensure the Fabric team are suitably skilled and trained, and appropriate training plans are drafted and implemented.
  7. To ensure the Fabric Technicians are undertaking work tasks as directed and with suitable H&S awareness/implementation.
  8. Experience in the provision of fabric maintenance works in a commercial environment.
  9. Management of small works projects.
  10. Project management.
  11. IOSH or NEBOSH Health & Safety qualifications.
  12. Experience working on Listed commercial properties (Highly desirable).
  13. Experience dealing with English Heritage (Highly desirable).

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of fabric maintenance and repair.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
