Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry Specialist

We are seeking two enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrists to join our Liaison Psychiatry team at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and consultant input into the Adult Liaison Psychiatry team, working closely with our acute colleagues to provide holistic care for patients with mental health needs who are admitted to the hospital.
About the RoleThe post-holder will be based at Southampton General Hospital, University Southampton Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust, and will be appointed by Southern Health Foundation Trust (the mental health trust) but in addition have an honorary contract with University Hospitals Southampton NHS Trust (the acute trust).
The general adult liaison psychiatry team has an established 24/7 practitioner cover, and we have an established Band 7 triage model to maintain good performance in meeting the CORE 24 standards.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and consultant input into the Adult Liaison Psychiatry team
- Work closely with our acute colleagues to provide holistic care for patients with mental health needs who are admitted to the hospital
- Develop a special interest in an area of the medical Trust (surgery, medicine, obstetrics) according to the areas of interest for the post-holder
Southern Health is one of the largest NHS Foundation Trusts in the UK, specialising in mental health and learning disabilities, as well as offering physical health community-based services.
