About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Manager to join our team at Amazon UK Services Ltd. in Germany, UK, France, or Poland. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing construction engineering, planning, and design for Amazon Fulfillment (Distribution) Centers and other expansion projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee construction engineering, planning, and design for Amazon Fulfillment (Distribution) Centers and other expansion projects
  • Support project management on fulfillment network buildings and additional capacity requirements within existing European Fulfillment Centers
  • Undertake construction engineering design and remodel projects
  • Prepare reports, specifications, and technical analysis to define design requirements, equipment, and services
  • Survey facilities, develop procedures to audit the facility, provide evaluations and analysis, and recommend solutions to facility infrastructure, safety, and security problems
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and present formal documentation for approval
  • Ensure contracts are fit for purpose, cost-effective, and incorporate appropriate Service Level Agreements
  • Provide overall site management, coordination, planning, specification of business proposals, and coordination of subcontractors
  • Facilitate and team with others on due diligence evaluation of new opportunities
  • Coach and guide project teams (subcontractors, maintenance engineers, and commissioning engineers) throughout the full project life cycle
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Engineering or Architecture, or equivalent
  • Project management, construction, or engineering experience with a proven track record of managing new builds and existing warehouses/logistics buildings
  • Construction market experience in one or more EU countries
  • Project Management experience from design phase through implementation and operation
  • Experience negotiating construction, procurement, and labor contracts in EU
  • Proven track record of management of construction quality systems
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience of Six Sigma and Lean analytical techniques
  • Masters degree in Civil or Engineering or Architecture, or equivalent
  • MRICS/RIBA qualified, or equivalent Chartered Engineer
  • German, French, Polish, Arabic, and Turkish language skills
