About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Amazon UK Services Ltd. as an Operations Manager, where you will play a key role in driving operational excellence across our sites. As a seasoned Operations Manager, you will lead a team of Area Managers and be responsible for managing and developing their skills to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a team of Area Managers to achieve business objectives
  • Lead operational teams on a shift, deal with issues, and positively impact site performance
  • Analyse shift performance against relevant business objectives, and put in place actions to improve operational excellence
  • Work closely with other support teams, including HR, Finance, Health and Safety, and Security
  • Design and deliver initiatives across the sites to improve operational performance

A Day in the Life

As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading shifts at one of our operational sites, working closely with other teams to drive operational excellence. You will be a key link between different areas of the business, including finance, safety, and operations integration teams. Your day will involve meetings with different areas of the business, deep diving into performance and risk metrics for sites, and looking ahead to prepare for different levels of demand.

Requirements

  • A degree
  • Relevant experience in people and stakeholder management
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal skills and intermediate proficiency in the local language
  • Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions
  • Relevant experience in key areas of production and supply chains

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, experience in Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques, as well as experience working with the MS Office suite in a professional environment, would be beneficial in this role.
