About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Health Specialist to provide a comprehensive and specialist Occupational Health Service to our entire Racing Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing competent, comprehensive, and specialist advice to service users, including assessment, advice/education, and management plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a high-standard Occupational Health Service, including new starter screening, health surveillance, immunisations, annual wellness screening, and race team screening.
  • Contribute to the health and wellbeing of all employees and work with the MPH team to design and deliver health promotion activities.
  • Promote high standards of health and safety amongst employees in line with current legislation.
  • Assess and reduce clinical hazard and risk in the workplace.
  • Collaborate with MSK and mental health teams for both reactive and preventive wellness intervention programs.
  • Develop comprehensive client-centered objectives and plans for employees referred to the occupational health service.
  • Assess employee fitness for work following long-term sickness absence, frequent short-term sickness absence, or where the employee is experiencing health or disability issues impacting upon them at work.
  • Maintain confidential, clear, and accurate records stored in accordance with the General Data Protection Act Regulations.
  • Advise on safe systems of work, personal protective equipment, environment safety, and employee health surveillance.
  • Coordinate appropriate clinical interventions and follow-up monitoring reviews relating to blood-borne virus exposure and suspected occupational dermatitis.
  • Support development and review of policies, procedures, and standards with reference to clinical practice.
  • Develop, monitor, and audit clinical and non-clinical performance standards, and activity reporting.
  • Support development of the Occupational Health Service within the MPH.
Requirements:
  • Occupational Health Specialist Nurse (Degree level/Diploma level or equivalent).
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Expert clinical skills & experience as an OH specialist practitioner including health surveillance and health protection programmes.
  • Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check.
