About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Risk Analyst to join our team at National Grid. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in developing and owning key business-as-usual (BAU) calculations, producing analytics on interconnectors to aid decision-making, and monitoring commercial risk exposure.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members to gather requirements, develop, and own reports and dashboards, including financial results, commercial opportunities, risk, and performance metrics, primarily using SQL and Power BI.
- Execute and maintain key BAU calculations utilized by the Optimization and wider CCR team, such as risk metrics and auction revenue models.
- Perform ad-hoc analytic requests and support the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of commercial risk management frameworks and corresponding processes and controls.
About You
- Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel, with evidence of this sought at interview.
- Experience handling significant quantities of data, knowledge of data handling techniques, experience using databases, and data mining.
- Experience developing, implementing, running, and maintaining complex SQL calculations to meet business requirements.
- Experience building reports and producing analytics in Power BI.
- Experience working with internal stakeholders and project partners.
- Desirable experience in commercial risk and developing and monitoring processes and controls.
- Understanding of interconnector business models and sources of revenue is desirable.
- Knowledge of GB and EU electricity industry structures, policies, and regulations, market fundamentals, and recent trends is desirable.
What You'll Get
A competitive salary between £41,000 - £52,000, dependent on capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. You will also have access to a number of flexible benefits, including a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines, and matched charity giving.
