Join Our Team as a Commercial Analyst

We're seeking a highly skilled Commercial Analyst to join our Electricity Transmission (ET) Finance team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting business partnering activities across various ET areas.

About the Role

As a Commercial Analyst, you will be responsible for providing financial business partnering to a key area of the National Grid business. You will work closely with business leaders to ensure they understand their financial performance in the context of our regulatory framework and commitments to shareholders.

You will support the development of business plans, coordinate and consolidate submissions, and provide interpretation of key financial metrics to ensure the ET business understands what's critical to its performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Financial Business Partners with coordination and consolidation of business plan submissions
  • Develop, review, and challenge robust justification and Cost Benefit Analysis for key projects
  • Provide interpretation of key financial metrics to ensure the ET business understands its performance
  • Build effective relationships with key business stakeholders, Regulation, and across the wider CFO teams
  • Develop analysis and propose solutions to complex commercial scenarios
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop financial models and evaluate the financial impact of various initiatives, projects, and operational changes
Requirements

We're looking for a qualified Accountant or Part Qualified (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA) with planning, forecasting, and budgeting experience. You should have advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, as well as experience with SAP, SAC, Alteryx, PowerBI, and financial modelling, data consolidation, and data analysis.
