Environmental Porter

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Environmental Porter to join our team at Devon Partnership NHS Trust. As an Environmental Porter, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Unload, load, and store equipment and deliveries from internal and external sources.

• Deliver equipment and materials in support of departmental cleaning schedules and National Cleaning Standards.

• Safely operate and daily check all vehicles employed during the course of your duties.

• Ensure correct waste segregation and disposal procedures in accordance with Trust policy.

• Collect and transport waste from end-user areas to the centralised waste storage compound.

• Remove soiled linen and distribute clean linen to/from wards and departments.

• Complete documentation as required by department, Trust, legislation, and standing instructions.

• Observe hygiene, hospital, and client policies and procedures at all times, reporting any faults, defects, or operational issues to the Line Manager.

• Perform general portering tasks as requested, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety procedures.
