Job Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced CNC Miller to join our busy and highly motivated team on a permanent contract. The work is varied, interesting, and demanding, and we expect high standards for quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Programming, setting, and operating 3-axis Haas or Hurco CNC Milling Machines within a low-volume, small-batch environment.
  • Self-inspection of components using manual measuring equipment.
  • Creation of programs, jigs, and fixtures for new components.
  • Ensuring manufactured parts are produced in the most efficient manner.
  • Setting and running multiple machines when the component and/or batch sizes allow.

Requirements

  • Programming, setting, and operating experience of CNC Milling machinery - preferably HAAS or Hurco Machines.
  • CNC Milling experience within a similar hi-tech environment – ideally apprentice-trained.
  • Able to work accurately to deadlines.
  • An ability to read 1st and 3rd angle engineering drawings.
  • An enthusiastic team player with a can-do/flexible attitude.
  • Continual process improvement attitude.
  • Experience of using mild metals.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills

  • Relevant qualifications.
  • A willingness to help in other areas of the factory should the demand arise.
  • Conventional Milling/Bridgeport experience.
  • Experience of programming with Edgecam.
  • Manual and/or CNC Turning experience.
