We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our Specials Milling department at 2M Employment Solutions. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting and operating 3&4 axis CNC milling machinery in a fast-paced precision engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities- Set and operate 3&4 axis CNC milling equipment, including Haas and Mori Seiki machines using Fanuc interface.
- Machining tool steels, both hard and soft, up to 65Hrc.
- Use Renishaw spindle probes to set work shifts and datums.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, manufacturing parts to tolerances of 0.001mm.
- Take precise in-process measurements using a range of measuring equipment, including micrometres, verniers, and plug gauges.
- Maintain a clean workstation and adhere to 5S standards.
- Ensure that all operations adhere to safety and quality protocols.
- Perform periodic tool changes during production to maintain quality.
- Experience as a setter/operator on CNC milling equipment, preferably with an apprenticeship background.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Experience of programming, with an understanding of G&M codes.
- Experience of Edgecam software is an advantage.
- Competent at running small workpieces to a high quality.
- Ability to maintain tight machining tolerances.
- Strong communication skills and timekeeping.
