About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Naval Architect to join our Submarine Naval Architecture Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the design and development of submarine assets for our UK and international customers. This will involve working on projects across the lifecycle of these assets, from procurement to maintenance and upgrades.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Surveys on submarines to support design changes;
• 3D modelling and naval architectural calculations to support concept design development and design changes;
• Structural analysis using both hand calculations and finite element analysis;
• Stability assessments using the Paramarine Naval Architecture software;
• Engineering assessments to support submarine life extensions;

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in naval architecture, with a HNC/HND/Foundation Degree or Bachelors/Masters degree or postgraduate qualification in the field. You will also need to have practical experience of conventional or nuclear submarine naval architecture, as well as good analytical and problem-solving skills.
