Adaptable Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a dynamic UK based organisation seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

The role will be based in Liverpool city centre, working a hybrid model and reporting directly to the Payroll Manager.

Key salary details include:

  • £46,000 - £48,000 per annum
  • 37.5 hour working week with flexible working available

About the role:

You will support the payroll manager and deputise during annual leave, manage two payroll officers on a day-to-day basis, and possess extensive payroll knowledge and troubleshooting skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • SUPPORTING THE PAYROLL MANAGER AND DEPUTISING DURING ANNUAL LEAVE
  • MANAGING TWO PAYROLL OFFICERS ON A DAY-TO-DAY BASIS
  • DEALING WITH ENQUIRIES FROM ALL LEVELS AND PERFORMING MANUAL CALCULATIONS
  • SUPPORTING ENQUIRIES FROM INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL AUDITORS
  • UNDERSTANDING ACCOUNTING AND THE IMPACT OF PAYROLL ON THE P&L AND BALANCE SHEET
  • EXPERIENCE OF ACCOUNTS BALANCE SHEET RECONCILIATIONS
  • IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF SALARY SACRIFICE PENSIONS
  • IDEALLY EXPERIENCED WITH LARGE VOLUME MULTI-SITE PAYROLS WITH VARYING T'S & C'S
  • PREPARATION OF DIRECTOR EMOLEMNTS
  • RESEARCH AND IDENTIFY OPPORTUNITIES FOR PROCESS IMPROVEMENT AND REPORT TO THE PAYROLL MANAGER
  • IDELY EXPERIENCED WITH LARGE VOLUME MULTI-SITE PAYROLS WITH VARYING T'S & C'S

Required Skills and Qualifications:

You should have experience of managing a team at a senior level, producing director emoluments, commercial and financial awareness, ability to review and analyse payroll information with a keen eye for detail.

In addition, you should have advanced MS Excel user skills, excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to see the bigger picture, good time management, impeccable attention to detail, remain calm under pressure, and able to work to tight deadlines.
