Patient Transport Volunteer

As a Car Driver with our organisation, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of patients across Wales. You will be responsible for transporting patients to and from hospital appointments, ensuring they receive the care they need in a safe and timely manner.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are proud of their community and want to make a positive impact. As a Car Driver, you will have the flexibility to choose your own hours and work at times that suit you. You will also be provided with comprehensive training and uniform to ensure you feel confident and prepared for the role.
- Post arrival at designated Hospitals or Clinics/Treatment Centres, contact Ambulance Care Liaison staff or Coordination Centres to log sheet details and confirm if there was no reply or patients too ill to travel.
- Return patients to their place of residence as required, checking initially with respective staff to see if they are ready, escorting them to the vehicle, and transporting them safely to their destinations by the most appropriate route.
The estimated salary for this role is £23,971 per annum, which includes a mileage allowance of 45p per mile. If you are a UK or Republic of Ireland national, you may be eligible for the Health and Care visa, which has lower application costs and does not require the annual Immigration Health Surcharge.
