Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Welding Governance Specialist to join our team at NES Fircroft. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced welding professional to take on a senior role and contribute to the operational governance of our clients’ welding processes.

About the Role

This Senior Welding Governance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that our clients’ welding processes meet the required standards, including accreditation. The successful candidate will have excellent technical knowledge of welding principles and practices, as well as strong leadership skills to guide the implementation of welding governance frameworks.

Main Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance on all aspects of welding, including weld design, in-service performance, ease of manufacture, code and standard requirements, and inspection requirements.
  • Welding Management Systems & Compliance: Develop and manage welding quality management systems, ensure alignment with required standards, and maintain periodic welder qualifications and coordinate subcontractor approvals.
  • Project & Product Quality Assurance/Control Support: Ensure alignment with ISO 9001 and contractual requirements, oversee the database of WPS, WPQR, and WPQ, and conduct root-cause analysis for weld failures.
  • Certification, Approvals, and Audits: Manage all welding certifications, ensure they are embedded within the management systems, and conduct audit schedules based on risk.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a degree qualification or equivalent in a relevant engineering subject, with 5+ years of experience in either Nuclear or Aerospace/Defence/Oil & Gas sector as a Welding Engineer. They will also hold recognised welding qualifications, such as EWT or EWE, and possess demonstrable experience of product audit/verification of welding process and associated records.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary package, which includes a base salary of £65,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and a pension scheme. You will also have opportunities for career development and growth within our company.
