About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Professional to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As an Autism Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing focused support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ensuring they can access their education and develop vital life skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build Strong Relationships: Establish and maintain strong, supportive relationships with students based on their individual needs.
  • Implement Targeted Strategies: Develop and implement targeted strategies to foster social, emotional, and academic growth in students with Autism.
  • Provide One-on-One Support: Offer one-on-one support to students where needed and assist with classroom activities to ensure a smooth learning environment.
  • Collaborate with Professionals: Collaborate with teachers, external professionals, and other support staff to ensure a consistent and inclusive learning environment.
  • Track Progress: Monitor and track student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.

Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with Autism or special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • Attitude: A patient, empathetic, and genuine passion for helping others are essential qualities for this role.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Training: A willingness to undertake relevant training and development is expected.
