About the Role

The Newspaper Operations team at The Telegraph is responsible for leading the operational planning, production, and timely distribution of our printed titles. We deliver an innovative, collaborative approach to the planning and delivery of the printed product, improving processes, using technology, and our talent to make our print operations smarter.

As a Print Operations Coordinator, you will manage the timely transmission of pages to the print sites, liaising with Editorial and the press sites, and following procedures to complete each day's transmission accurately and effectively.

You will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of the right pages to the correct press sites, ensuring press sites are correctly notified of relevant press runs, and checking final page proofs to ensure all elements are present and correct.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures the timely delivery of the right pages to correct press sites.
  • Ensures press sites are correctly notified of relevant press runs.
  • Check the final page proofs to ensure all elements are present and correct.
  • Takes the initiative and the correct action when required to ensure successful commencement of our print runs.
  • Ensures editioning and zoning are correctly done in Editorial and Advertising, such as regional editions and splitting zoned ads.
  • Reports clearly on each day's transmission.

Desirable Skills

  • Advanced Photoshop re-touching skills in print production.
  • Fully competent with handling and basics of picture production cutouts in Photoshop.
  • Intermediate level print publishing knowledge - Newspapers and magazines.
  • Intermediate colour reproduction and colour management skills.
