Senior Clinical Psychologist and Borough Therapy Lead

The post holder will provide a highly specialized clinical psychology service to Hillingdon CAMHS. Therapy will be an essential aspect of the post, as will delivering training and clinical supervision for staff working with this type of client-group. Contribution to appropriate clinical policies and procedures will be required, in line with the objectives set for the service and in collaboration with the service's general management. As Borough Therapy Lead, the post holder will be part of the local Senior Management Team (SMT), working closely with the Service Manager, Team Manager, and Clinical Lead (Psychiatry) and actively lead the service line Care Quality and Performance Group (CQPMG) agenda.
Main Duties of the Job- Working within a highly specialized clinical area, to provide highly developed specialist psychological assessments of clients based upon the appropriate use, interpretation, and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological (and neuropsychological) tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations, and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members, and others involved in the client's care.
- To provide training to staff, supervision for multi-disciplinary staff, and advise the Team Manager of the levels and limits of competency of individual staff.
- To enter and retrieve data as required into the clinical system and other patient records systems.
- To develop, prepare and maintain appropriate research databases, as necessary and appropriate.
- To take a lead, as a senior clinician, in planning and implementing systems for the evaluation, monitoring, and development of the service/sector's services, through the deployment of professional skills in research, service evaluation, and audit and ensuring incorporation of psychological frameworks for understanding and provision of high-quality care.
- To ensure the development, maintenance, and dissemination of the highest professional standards of practice, through active participation in internal and external CPD training and development programmes.
