Academics Ltd is seeking an experienced SEND Support Assistant to join our team in a mainstream primary school in South Leeds. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs, particularly autism (ASD/ASC), and be able to provide a high standard of support for children in key stage 2.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with SEND children and can help them learn and thrive with encouraging support. As a SEND Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other staff members to provide individualized support to a child with autism in key stage 2.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  1. Assess and accommodate individual learning needs of the pupil.
  2. Report on individual pupils' progress.
  3. Encourage the social and emotional development of the pupil.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Experience working with children with SEND, particularly autism (ASD/ASC).
  • A can-do attitude and a willingness to help in other areas of the classroom.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with the children and other staff members.

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience. We are committed to paying a salary that reflects your skills and qualifications.
