Behaviour Mentor Assistant in Richmond

The Behaviour Mentor Assistant role at RIBBONS AND REEVES offers a unique opportunity to support students' social and emotional development in a secondary school setting. This Behaviour Mentor Assistant position is based in Richmond, where the school serves a community of around 1,000 pupils and is rated Good by Ofsted. The school prioritises student wellbeing, combining academic rigour with a nurturing culture to support every individual's development.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support students in understanding and adhering to school behaviour policies.
  2. Provide one-on-one and small group interventions, focusing on goal setting, coping strategies, and conflict resolution.
  3. Promote students' emotional wellbeing, resilience, and self-control.
  4. Assist teachers in managing classroom behaviour to ensure a productive learning space.
  5. Use behavioural strategies and support tools to enhance students' personal growth and classroom focus.
  6. Communicate regularly with teachers, school leadership, and occasionally with parents to monitor progress.
  7. Maintain accurate records of interventions, incidents, and progress to inform support strategies.
Requirements:
  1. A degree in Psychology or a related field Minimum 2:1 degree from a recognised UK university.
  2. Previous experience working with children or young people is advantageous.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students and collaborate with staff.
