About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Manager to join our team at AJ Bell Management Limited. As an Infrastructure Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth delivery of our portfolio of business-critical core infrastructure projects.

This is a hybrid role with circa 2 days per week in our Manchester office. You will report to the Head of IT Infrastructure and work closely with various other teams in technical services to ensure strategic and tactical projects and initiatives are identified, planned, and implemented accordingly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: You will have overall responsibility for the support, provision, and enhancement of our group IT infrastructure. This includes producing project plans for complex technical projects and coordinating activities identified for each project within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Team Management: You will be responsible for line management of a team of skilled Infrastructure Engineers responsible for the delivery of projects as well as support of existing networks and infrastructure systems.
  • Infrastructure Monitoring: You will manage infrastructure and systems monitoring mechanisms used throughout the group, producing associated KPIs that give an indication of performance, capacity, availability, and quality of infrastructure and associated systems and hardware.
  • Service Delivery: You will ensure a high quality of service and availability for Infrastructure services, and that support requests are dealt with effectively.
  • Financial Management: You will be responsible for ensuring infrastructure expenditures align with the budget.
About You

We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Manager who has a proven track record of managing complex infrastructure projects. You will have a solid understanding of recognised project management methodologies and have hands-on experience with a variety of infrastructure technologies.

You will be an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders. You will also have a strong understanding of IT service management principles and be able to apply them in a fast-paced environment.

Technical Skills
  • VMware Stack: You will have broad knowledge of the VMware stack, including VCF, VCDR, VMC, and related technologies.
  • Hyperconverged Solutions: You will have experience with Dell VXRail or similar hyperconverged solutions.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Familiarity with AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud infrastructure is highly advantageous.
  • Environment Monitoring: You will have experience with environment monitoring and alerting solutions such as SolarWinds, OpsGenie, and Zabbix.
  • SD-WAN & SASE Networks: You will have knowledge of SD-WAN & SASE networks.
  • iSCSI SAN Technology: You will have experience with iSCSI SAN technology, ideally with NetApp experience.
  • M365 Suite: Familiarity with the M365 suite and management is highly advantageous.
  • Microsoft Server Operating Systems: You will have experience with Microsoft Server operating systems and the configuration and management of core components such as AD, ADFS, DNS, DHCP, DFS, IIS, etc.
  • Linux Server Configuration: You will have experience with Linux server configuration and management.
  • Cisco Networking: You will have knowledge of Cisco networking, ISE, and DNAC.
