Job SummaryThe Principal Auditor will support the Head of Assurance and Audit Manager in the delivery of the Internal Audit and Counter Fraud Plans. The role will involve working as part of the Assurance team, reporting to the Head of Assurance and the Audit Manager, and balancing work activities between multiple audit engagements.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Head of Assurance and Audit Manager in providing assurance on the effectiveness of internal control, risk management, and governance processes.
- Assist management in continuously improving the audit service and act as a mentor to new and inexperienced staff.
- Research, plan, and prepare draft terms of reference for audit assignments.
- Plan audit work to ensure efficient and effective delivery.
- Undertake follow-up reviews of audits with limited assurance audit opinion.
- Certified Internal Auditor (IIA) or equivalent.
- Part-qualified or part-qualified and studying for a CCAB-recognised qualification.
- Relevant degree and significant relevant experience.
- Ability to describe an example of an internal audit assignment, including role, location, approach, testing, results, key findings, and learning.
- Clear understanding of Fraud and control issues.
- Expert knowledge and practical use of MS Office.
- DBS clearance and willingness to work evenings.
35 hours per week, 9am to 5.30pm.
