About the Role

Coxlease School, a specialist independent school for children aged 9 to 18 with SEMH and other related conditions/needs, is seeking a versatile and committed Teaching Assistant to join their Education team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students in a classroom setting, promoting their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to deliver high-quality education and care.
  • Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, ensuring a nurturing and supportive environment.
  • Provide individualized support to students, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting in a classroom setting, preferably in a SEMH or similar environment.
  • Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) relevant to the teaching and learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work flexibly, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with a willingness to undergo safeguarding screening.
