About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Homelessness Prevention Specialist to join our Modern Slavery Response Team at Hestia Housing Support. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing specialist support and guidance to advocates working with service users who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert knowledge and support to advocates on housing legislation, including the Homelessness Reduction Act and homelessness eviction and tenants' rights.
  • Work closely with local authorities and other homeless stakeholders to ensure service users receive the best possible support.
  • Hold housing advice clinics and drop-ins to support advocates in managing complex housing cases.
  • Develop and implement effective interventions to address the causes of homelessness and support service users in achieving independence.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify best practices and areas for improvement in preventing and solving homelessness.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in working with housing and homelessness legislation, including private rented housing, local authority housing, and homelessness.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with team members and service users.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage complex work projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, outcome-focused environment and meet service targets and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits legislation and health and safety procedures.
