About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Planning and Analysis Lead to join our Finance and Commercial Directorate at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG). This position is a new role based in the Finance Department and reporting to the Finance Director. As the Financial Planning and Analysis Lead, you will be the departmental lead for financial planning, budgets, financial reporting and modelling, your role will lead our team of dedicated Finance Business Partners. You will work closely with the senior leadership team as a strategic advisor to develop analytic insights to support our ambition to improve women's healthcare across the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the College's annual budget-setting process, ensuring accurate and timely financial planning and forecasting.
- Provide long-term financial planning support for the College, analyzing financial data and trends to inform strategic decision-making.
- Oversee the production of monthly management accounts, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with budget managers and senior leaders, offering expert financial advice and support.
- Manage, motivate and develop a team of Finance Business Partners, providing guidance and training to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
About You
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent) with expertise in financial planning, management reporting and leadership within a finance function. Your ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to various stakeholders, combined with your strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, will be key to your success in this role. Experience within the not-for-profit sector and familiarity with charity accounting rules are highly desirable.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent)
- Demonstrable practical knowledge of financial planning, reporting and analysis
- Proven capability in leading and managing a finance team
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial software packages
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
