Job Description

The Spa Therapist will be responsible for providing exceptional spa treatments to guests at the Gilpin Hotel & Lake House. This role requires a high level of customer service skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide spa treatments: Perform a variety of spa treatments, including massages, facials, and body wraps, to guests in the spa space, jetty spa, guest spa lodges, and suites.
  • Show knowledge of spa treatments and products: Demonstrate a good understanding of all spa treatments and the products used in the spa, including ESPA and Pure Lakes.
  • Consult with guests: Conduct thorough consultations with guests to determine their treatment needs and preferences.
  • Host spa trails and manage spa facilities: Host spa trails and ensure that guests are comfortable and satisfied with their spa experience.
  • Upsell treatments and retail products: Identify opportunities to upsell treatments and retail products to guests, and provide recommendations to enhance their experience.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service: Provide exceptional customer service to guests, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage spa diary and reservations: Navigate the spa diary and create spa reservations, responding to emails and sending confirmation emails to guests.
  • Assist Spa Manager: Assist the Spa Manager with the daily running of the spa, and report to the Spa Manager or deputy in their absence.
  • Maintain a clean and organized spa environment: Ensure that the spa facilities are kept immaculately clean and well-presented, and that products and consumables are topped up.
  • Report guest issues: Report any guest issues to the Spa Manager and on the Gilpin Academy as soon as possible.
  • Manage retail sales: Charge treatments and products through the EPOS system and PDQ, and achieve retail targets set by management.
  • Unpack and store stock: Unpack and store stock on arrival, and ensure that a detailed handover is completed each day.
  • Complete end of day banking: Complete the end of day banking, and inform the Spa Manager or deputy of any health and safety risks or issues.
  • Support other departments: Help out other departments when required, and maintain a clean, tidy, organized, and safe working environment at all times.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience: Previous experience in a similar level of establishment is preferred.
  • Relevant qualifications: Relevant qualifications in treatments that are offered in this particular spa are required.
  • Face-to-face experience: Face-to-face experience with guests is essential.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills: Strong teamwork and communication skills are required to effectively collaborate with other teams in the business.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is required, as per the demands of the business.
  • Exceptional customer service skills: Exceptional customer service skills and good listening skills are required.
  • Ability to work under pressure: Ability to work in a busy environment and under pressure is essential.
  • Ability to work independently: Ability to work under own initiative is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills: Excellent organizational skills are necessary to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong sense of achievement: Strong sense of need for achievement of goals and success is required.
  • High level of motivation: High level of motivation, determination, and commitment is necessary to excel in this role.
  • Good health and fitness: Good health and a general level of fitness is required for this role.
  • First Aid and Fire Warden training: Ability to act as a First Aid Aider or Fire Warden in the event of an accident or emergency is required.
