Lead the Way in Student Development

We are seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Associate Vice President/Associate Dean for Student Living and Learning at Widener University.

About the Role

This is a full-time, 100% on-campus position with occasional engagement with Commonwealth Law and Delaware Law regarding conduct matters.

Responsibilities
  • Serve on the core leadership team for Student Engagement and Transformation, driving strategic planning, assessment, and curricular approaches.
  • Lead Student Engagement and Transformation assessment and learning initiatives, including the curricular approach and residential curriculum.
  • Develop budgets for day-to-day residence hall operations, anticipated maintenance and upgrades, and programming budgets for all residential units.
  • Maintain positive relationships with colleagues in facilities, information technology, dining, campus safety, and other areas impacting the student living experience.
  • Provide accurate records regarding housing, furnishings, maintenance, and custodial needs, and long-term project goals.
  • Partner closely with university facilities on residence hall updates, maintenance, and capital projects.
  • Serve on Professional Staff on-call rotation for emergencies, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
  • Master's degree and a minimum of seven (7) years' experience in residence life/housing and conduct.
  • Supervision, training, and development of professional and student staff.
  • Experience developing and implementing assessment and student learning initiatives.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguous situations and act decisively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Advanced interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with students, staff/faculty, families.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 8-10 years leadership experience in residence life, conduct, or a combination of the two.
  • Terminal Degree in Higher Education or related field.
  • Proficiency with Maxient and StarRez software.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
