Project Manager - Civil Engineering

A leading regional civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced project manager to oversee a variety of civil engineering schemes across the UK, with values up to £30m. As part of the management team, you will report to the regional director and manage site teams consisting of agents, sub-agents, engineers, foremen, and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage civil engineering schemes from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Lead and motivate site teams to achieve project goals, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with commercial staff to prepare project cost value reports and contract status reports.
  • Work closely with estimating teams to provide value engineering expertise, lessons learned, and competitive tendering strategies.
  • Develop and implement project plans, ensuring effective resource allocation and timely completion.
  • Monitor and control project costs, ensuring profitability and adherence to company policies.
  • Ensure all personnel, including subcontractors, work safely and in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a project manager in civil engineering, with a strong track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Degree-qualified and able to manage a project team.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage project finances.
