Mechanical Design Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Gi Group Professionals. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing product designs from concept to production, adding to our award-winning products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create high-quality models and drawings to industry standards at component, sub-system, and system levels.
  • Conduct design reviews, documentation, and failure mode analysis.
  • Apply value engineering and cost optimization techniques.
  • Design for manufacture and assembly.
Requirements:
  • Engineering degree (masters level preferred) in a relevant field, such as Thermodynamics, Aerodynamics/Fluid Dynamics, Dynamics and vibrations, or renewable energy.
  • Strong mechanical design skills.
  • At least 3 years of industrial experience in engineering systems mechanical design.
  • Experience in successful design cost-down activities.
  • Ability to use 3D CAD software, preferably Solidworks, with industry-standard practices in drawing creation.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills to drive projects to a successful conclusion in a high-pressure manufacturing environment.
