About the Role

The PCN Pharmacy Technician will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective supply of prescribed medication to patients across the PCN. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the successful clinical management of patients and be part of a dynamic team.

Main Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:

1. Medicines Optimisation

a. Implement a centralised medicines optimisation process across PCN practices, ensuring a safe and effective supply of prescribed medication.

b. Work with community pharmacy to support electronic repeat dispensing (eRD) and implement a process for appliance requests.

c. Run searches and action MHRA CAS alerts to ensure patient safety.

2. Patient Safety

a. Support patient queries related to medicines and refer complex queries to pharmacist/nurse/GP.

3. Quality Improvement Projects

a. Identify patients suitable for virtual clinics to support QIPP implementation.

b. Identify patients who have not been issued anticoagulant/lithium/steroid/antiplatelet cards and ensure read code into the notes.
