Job Title: Pharmacy Technician - Medicines Management

As a Pharmacy Technician with Ashtons Hospital Pharmacy Services Limited, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of safe and effective medicines management across various mental health hospitals, hospices, and other settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the pharmacy team in managing and maintaining safe and efficient stock levels of pharmaceuticals.
  • Provide pharmacy technical support to professionals involved in patient care, including communication with patients on medication compliance issues.
  • Assist with medicines management, including monitoring expiry dates, assembling stock, and updating relevant paperwork.
  • Carry out audits, including Clinic Room Audit, Medicines Management Audit, and Controlled Drugs Audit.
  • Support colleagues during periods of absence and assist with tasks in other hospitals or Brighton dispensary when needed.
  • Assist the Pharmacy team in delivering Medicines Management training.
  • Be responsible for own continuing professional development in line with professional requirements.
  • Ensure all medication incidents are reported in accordance with local policy.
  • Assist the team in ensuring compliance with CQC standards for medicines management.

Requirements:

  • Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with GPhC or equivalent.
  • NVQ 3 in Pharmacy (or equivalent).
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to strive and aspire to delivering high-quality care and improving care for patients and their families.
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language essential.
