Role Overview

Hunter AHP Resourcing is seeking an experienced GP Pharmacist Independent Prescriber to join our client's busy GP practice on a full-time, locum basis. As a key member of the clinical team, you will provide pharmaceutical expertise and play a vital role in the safe, effective, and responsible management of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice and support to patients regarding the use of medications, including the safe prescribing and monitoring of treatment.
  • Work closely with GPs to assist in the management of chronic disease patients, conducting medication reviews and ensuring optimal drug therapy.
  • Use the EMIS system effectively for patient record-keeping, prescription generation, and medication monitoring.
  • Collaborate with the wider healthcare team to develop and implement treatment plans for complex or multi-morbid patients.
  • Take an active role in audits, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in team meetings, peer reviews, and CPD activities to ensure continued professional development.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified Independent Prescriber with active registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Previous experience working within a GP practice or primary care setting, with a sound understanding of the dynamics of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing medications, prescribing, and conducting medication reviews in a primary care setting.
  • Registration with the GPhC and a valid Enhanced DBS check.

Estimated Salary: £34,000 - £44,000 per annum, dependent on experience, with regular supervision and professional development opportunities, access to on-site training and resources, and flexible working arrangements.
