Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our team at Reed. As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for providing full ledger duties from beginning to end, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up new subcontractor accounts, verifying relevant certificates and insurances are correct and valid.
- Verify online all new subcontractors with CIS/Inland Revenue to ensure appropriate tax is deducted.
- Address any queries and ensure they are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
- Ensure invoices have the appropriate authorization prior to payment.
- Input subcontract payment certificates and accurately process them in line with company policies and HMRC regulations.
- Reconcile relevant statements prior to payment runs.
- Prepare weekly or monthly payment runs for BACs payments and send out statements to subcontractors.
- Manage own workload to meet monthly cut-off deadlines.
- Maintain and update the subcontractor ledger control accounts.
- Enter relevant information into the company cash book on a month-by-month basis.
- Resolve queries with subcontractors/subcontract companies and internal staff quickly and effectively.
- Investigate and resolve any queries/issues relating to payments of subcontractors and ensure risks are minimized.
- Undertake any ad-hoc projects as and when required.
Requirements:
- Experience in accounts and financial administration.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of HMRC regulations and company policies.
