Accounts Assistant Job Description

Reed is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our team. As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for providing full ledger duties from beginning to end, including setting up new subcontractor accounts and verifying online information with CIS/Inland Revenue.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Full Ledger Duties: Provide full ledger duties from beginning to end, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments and statements.
  2. Subcontractor Account Management: Set up new subcontractor accounts, verify online information, and ensure all relevant certificates and insurances are correct and valid.
  3. Payment Processing: Input subcontract payment certificates, accurately process payments in line with company policies and HMRC regulations, and prepare weekly or monthly payment runs for BACs payments.
  4. Subcontractor Ledger Control: Manage and review the subcontractor ledger control accounts, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and valid.
  5. Query Resolution: Resolve queries with subcontractors, subcontract companies, and internal staff quickly and effectively, minimizing risks and ensuring accurate payment processing.
  6. Ad-Hoc Projects: Undertake any ad-hoc projects as required, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to work.
