Staffroom Education Ltd is seeking a Catering Assistant to work in a Secondary School in Cardiff. This role involves providing kitchen support in the preparation, cooking, and serving of food and beverages, as well as related catering duties.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing the dining area for service, which may include moving and/or setting up furniture and trolleys, cleaning, and putting away after service. They will also assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of food and beverages as instructed.

The ideal candidate will have previous commercial experience in a role such as catering assistant or kitchen porter. They will also require an Enhanced DBS and ideally be subscribed to the DBS Update Service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the dining area for service
  • Assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of food and beverages
  • Clean catering areas to regulated standards
  • Undertake on and off the job training as required
  • Inform the Unit Supervisor of any defects in equipment or premises
