Job Title: Early Years Lead Practitioner Apprenticeship – Level 5
Job Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable individual to complete their Level 5 Early Years Lead Childcare Apprenticeship at Brambles Outdoor Nursery Group in Wilton. As a Senior Practitioner, you will work closely with the Aspire Training Team to deliver high-quality childcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide education and care for children, offering a supportive and stimulating environment in line with the Brambles ethos.
- Support mealtimes, nappy changing, and other routine-based activities within the setting.
- Assist in setting up for the day and tidying away at the end of the session.
- Contribute to the delivery of the standards of learning and development within the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
- Assist with planning the Brambles curriculum using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Read and understand Brambles policies and procedures, adhering to Early Years Foundation Stage welfare requirements.
- Develop a good understanding of loose parts, provocations, and outdoor learning to implement the Brambles ethos.
- Promote the Brambles ethos and support junior staff in its implementation.
- Actively promote safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people at all times.
- As a Key Person, recognize and meet the individual needs of children in your care, communicating with parents and carers.
- Attend parent evenings and open days, communicating with parents and carers about children's needs and plans.
- Use the Famly App to record children's activities and progress, communicating with parents and carers.
- Assist with managing children and staff, advising the Setting Manager of concerns while preserving confidentiality.
- Participate in staff meetings and monitor resources and equipment, advising the Manager or Deputy Manager as needed.
- Be flexible and undertake additional duties as requested by the Manager or Directors.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues and support the setting in achieving a minimum good Ofsted rating.
- Keep personal skills and knowledge up to date with current research and thinking.
- Ensure adequate records are kept and updated regularly.
- Ensure children's safety and understand when to follow child protection procedures.
- Have regard for equality of opportunity in delivery, access, and attitude.
- Respect confidentiality and have a commitment to equal opportunities for all.
Working Hours:
- Brambles Outdoor Nursery Group is open from 8.00am – 17:00pm Monday to Friday.
- The successful candidate will work 37.5 hours per week with shift patterns to be discussed.
Requirements:
- Level 3 Childcare Qualification is essential.
- A clear DBS is required.
- GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English Language, or equivalent.
- Experience in a leadership role is desired.
