Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable individual to complete their Level 5 Early Years Lead Childcare Apprenticeship at Brambles Outdoor Nursery Group in Wilton. As a Senior Practitioner, you will work closely with the Aspire Training Team to deliver high-quality childcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide education and care for children, offering support and stimulating play experiences in line with the Brambles ethos.
  • Support mealtimes, nappy changing, and other routine-based activities.
  • Assist in setting up for the day and tidying away at the end of the session.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework for the setting.
  • Assist with planning the Brambles curriculum using the EYFS for guidance.
  • Read and understand Brambles policies and procedures.
  • Implement the Brambles ethos and support junior staff in its implementation.
  • Actively promote safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people.
  • Act as a Key Person, recognising and meeting individual children's needs, and communicating with parents and carers.
  • Attend parent evenings and open days, and communicate with parents and carers about children's needs and plans.
  • Use the Famly App to record children's activities and progress, and communicate with parents and carers.
  • Participate in staff meetings and monitor resources and equipment.
  • Take on additional duties as requested by management.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues.
  • Support the setting to achieve and maintain a minimum good Ofsted rating.
  • Keep personal skills and knowledge up to date with current research and thinking.
  • Ensure adequate records are kept and updated regularly.
  • Ensure children's safety and understand when to follow child protection procedures.
  • Have regard for equality of opportunity in delivery, access, and attitude.
  • Respect confidentiality of information received about children and their families.
  • Have a commitment to equal opportunities for all.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Childcare Qualification is essential.
  • Must be able to gain a clear DBS.
  • GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English Language, or equivalent.
  • Experience in a leadership role is desired.
