Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. As a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, you will play a key role in the development and leadership of our NHS Children and Young People's Gender Service.
Main Responsibilities- Provide expert clinical input and leadership to the service, working closely with the Clinical Lead and other multidisciplinary team members.
- Develop and implement a highly specialist psychology and psychotherapy service to meet the needs of children and young people with gender diversity.
- Lead the monitoring and implementation of professional standards in the practice of applied psychology and psychotherapy in the service.
- Provide systematic and effective professional supervision, governance, and quality assurance of the service.
- Contribute to the development of leadership skills through participation in service development and research initiatives.
- Entry-level qualification in Applied Psychology (professional Doctorate, or combination of MSc plus PG Diploma level additional training) that has been accepted by the HCPC for purposes of professional registration.
- Additional training beyond entry-level qualification in a specialised area of psychological practice (in an area of clinical practice relevant to the service CBT, DBT, Specialist assessment) through formal post-qualification training (PG Diploma or equivalent).
- Completed training course in clinical supervision.
- Registered with the HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist, and evidence of continuing professional development as required by the HCPC.
- Experience of working with children and young people with gender diversity.
- Experience of leadership roles in a clinical setting.
- Experience of developing and implementing service development projects.
- Ability to deliver psychological therapy across cultural and other differences.
- Ability to select and administer specialist psychological assessments, interpreting and integrating complex data.
- Ability to communicate skilfully and sensitively with clients, carers, and colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
